Emile Robert, a music-hall artist in Paris, receives a message from a certain Alfredo Quiroga from Uruguay, who found a suitcase with letters written by his ex-lover Eurydice decades earlier. Emile heads to Montevideo to retrieve them, but when he arrives he finds an empty apartment, a cat, and ghosts from the past.
